Synopsis
Architects, interior and industrial designers, building contractors and business management all need to know how to evaluate the materials used in interior design. Fashionable appearance is no longer enough, as working and living spaces must meet current performance and safety standards. This standard American reference work on regulations and liabilities, materials performance criteria and specification writing for interior systems has been revised and updated to include details on panelling, life-cycle costing, data management and fire-performance testing. Particular emphasis has been placed on fire and other safety issues. The book also offers up-to-date information on new codes and regulations.

About the Author
S.C. Reznikoff, CSI, is professor of interior architecture in the Department of Design, College of Architecture and Environmental Design at Arizona State University, Tempe, and a national expert on topics of flammability and life safety in interior design. In 1960 Reznikoff founded Louisiana Interior Design Institute and served as director until 1983. She is also the author of Interior Graphic and Design Standards (Whitney, 1986) the standard technical information reference for all interior work. In 1986 Reznikoff, who is active in CSI, ASID, IBD, and NFPA, was awarded ASID's coveted Human Environment Award.
