Synopsis

Dust jacket notes: "For all who love to draw outdoors, here is the only book that demonstrates how to draw every major element of the landscape in pencil - the artist's most common tool and most faithful companion. Landscape drawings with lucid captions are interspersed throughout this instructive book to complement the text. The demonstration subjects include drawings of: broadleaf trees, conifers, palms; mountians, hills, rocks; industrial landscapes, houses in the landscape, and cityscapes; boats, reflections on water, and harbor scenes. In the final chapter of the book, Petrie pairs a series of landscape drawings with photographs of the actual scenes that inspired them....144 pages, 8.25 x 11 inches, over 200 black and white illustrations, Index.
