Calligraphy is traditionlly a pen-to-paper craft but in this digital age even the fluidity of the pen can be replicated on a computer. Whether you are a traditional calligrapher who wants to know what digital has to offer, or someone familiar with computers who would like to create their own display lettering, this book will introduce you to the techniques of ink-free calligraphy. Information is presented in four sections. The first introduces the principles of calligraphy - its history, techniques and design; section two provides guidance on hardware and software programs, describing the basic tools and methods of digital calligraphy; the third section features step-by-step instructions to improve skills and develop personal style; finally, there is a gallery of calligraphic art, which shows examples from top designers to provide inspiration and ideas.
