Synopsis
Some painters have a natural instinct for colour, but the majority become colourists only after a long process of experimentation. This text discusses colour theory in relation to the actual paint tube colours that are currently available to artists. The book centres around a cross-referenced colour wheel of 68 colours, all labelled by the names paint manufacturers use. The text then describes structured colour schemes and features art work by master painters who use colour in distinctive, personal ways.
About the Author
Stephen Quiller is an internationally recognized artist and teacher and is the author of the bestselling art guides Acrylic Painting Techniques and Painter's Guide to Color. He lives in Crede, Colorado.
