From the Author

Thank you for taking the time to read about my debut novel!
Susan Wiggs, author of The Charm School, says about Carolina Rose: "The battle of the sexes heats up the pages of this fun and fresh romance by talented new author Tracy Sumner."

South Carolina, 1850. Charlie Whitney isn't like the other ladies of Edgemont. She wears trousers, speaks her mind, and has burning ambitions as a journalist. She desperately wants to make a success of her late father's newspaper. Unfortunately, the job has been handed to Adam Chase, a big city editor from Richmond who doesn't like being in Edgemont any more than Charlie wants him there--even if he has sparked powerful feelings in her.

Adam believes in the power of the press and not much else, including love or happiness. He just wants to get the paper on its feet and get back to Richmond, away from the temptations that Charlie evokes. But he needs her to make the paper a success, and, like it or not, she needs him to teach her the writing trade.

Soon, Charlie's learning much more than how to report the news. In Adam's arms, she discovers the true meaning of passionate love...and the fine line between ambition and desire.
