From the Author

Can a woman lawyer be true to her client and her friend?
I was fascinated by a true case in which a male lawyer kept counsel when he knew his client was a murderer. Attorney/client privilege is nothing new, but I wondered where a woman lawyer's responsibility and loyalty would lie if her client - a man who murdered women - was also her best friends lover. Would the attorney be loyal to her friend, dishonoring her vow to remain silent? Would she put her friend in jeapordy to honor her oath. I've been amazed at the discussions this question has sparked. Everyone who has a best friend, who wants to protect their livelihood, who has a conscience has an opinion. I'd like to hear yours.
