About the Author

Caroline Clifton-Mogg is the Interiors editor of Harpers and Queen in Britain and a widely published author on interior design. She wrote Curtains and Blinds in the Conran Habitat series and is co-author of Displaying Pictures (1988).
Melanie Paine runs an interior design business in London. She is the author of Fabric Magic (1987) and Textile Classics (1990).
Fritz von der Schulenburg's photographs have appeared in most of the leading design magazines. He took the photographs for the books The English Garden Room and Living in Scotland.
