About the Author

The Author: Caroline Markolin received her Ph.D. from the University of Salzburg. A specialist in contemporary Austrian literature, she currently holds the position of Associate Professor at Concordia University in Montréal. Her works include a biography of Johannes Freumbichler, the grandfather of Thomas Bernhard, and Eine Geschichte vom Erzählen (Peter Lang 1991), a study on Peter Handke's poetics.
