Synopsis

The area of microwave / RF heating, processing and sensing is of direct interest to professionals who work in the field and also peripherally to countless others, such as chemists who use microwaves to accelerate the rate of their reactions. Books published on the subject are usually theoretical, filled with content that is mostly an extension of classical textbook material. Though this book does not avoid equations and theory when necessary, it goes beyond the rest by detailing exactly what is needed by the person who intends to design a system. And due to a recent surge of interest in non-contact volumetric heating and sensing materials, this information is especially timely.

This book features real world and numerically solved examples, and curve-fitted simple equations - which are particularly usable by a handheld calculator - to replace complex equations provided in typical texts. Electronics and electrical engineers, practicing and R&D engineers, scientists, physicsts, university professors and students: all will find this book a fresh and more informative approach to the material.

. Books in this area are usually theoretical; this book provides practical information for those who actually intend to design a system
. Features real world and numerically solved examples, and curve-fitted simple equations to replace complex equations provided in typical texts
. Author is a voting member of IEEE Standards Association
