Synopsis
This portable compendium provides reference information for practising accident and emergency nurses and paramedics. It includes difficult-to-find but critical information on durable waterproof pages. Most of the content comprises reference values or charts occupying one or two pages each for quick access to essential data. Commonly used trauma rating scores are presented to allow quick assessment and triaging of trauma victims. Current shock classification stages are featured to aid in shock assessment and interventions. Also given are burn formulas with figures and charts to help the reader determine the extent of burn injury and body temperature scales to delineate the different effects of body temperature changes at various altitudes or environmental situations. Common facial and chest fracture sites are also identified to aid in assessment and intervention.
