This is a clinical reference, which defines the concepts needed by a practitioner who is learning or reviewing cardiac auscultation. This pack, comprising a booklet and CD-ROM, explains how to identify and interpret normal and common abnormal heart sounds. The heart sounds are reproduced on a heart sound simulator which isolates the heart sound being examined, while other heart sounds are recorded from real patients to distinguish between similar heart and lung sounds. Validation of self-learning is made possible by answering the questions and listening to the "unknown" heart sounds at the end of the chapter. An audiotape of this guide is also available.
