Viewers can peer through the doors of the Pazzi Chapel, tour a busy workshop, make the fortification at Vicopisano rear up, and lift flaps to examine the structure of the dome of the Duomo in Florence; the illustrations effectively create a sense of time and place. The colorful text is as lively as the special effects; tales of Bruelleschi's brilliant successes and spectacular failures animate a specific, coherent account of his innovative principles and techniques.
