Synopsis
This guide teaches dog handlers how to correct flaws in a dog's behaviour in the field. Reviewing basic training techniques for bird dogs, the author discusses the power bar, for teaching heel; the whoa post, for teaching whoa and come; and the chain gang, for trainers with the help of other dogs. He then offers advice for correcting bolting, hard mouth, chasing cars, gun shyness and other problems. A further chapter is devoted to the "magic table", a method for teaching pointing dogs to retrieve.
