Synopsis
The Library of Congress encompasses virtually the entire history and scope of comic art, including editorial cartoons, caricatures, comic strips, animation and illustration. "Cartoon America" portrays a common ground that we all can appreciate and learn from. Caricatures and cartoons often depict the principal events and figures of the day. About the Author
Harry Katz is an independent curator, comics historian and former Head Curator, Prints and Photographs Division, Library of Congress. He divides his time between Washington, D.C., and his family home in Del Mar, California. Contributors to the book include Art Spiegelman, John Updike, Chris Ware, Roz Chast and Patrick McDonnell.
