Synopsis:

A guide to information sources, primarily but not exclusively statistical, available to the researcher working in the business field. The book stresses the importance of understanding the source producing the information, with each chapter devoted to a particular type of organization or body of information. Major sections deal with the output of the Federal government; regional and local governments; foreign sources; universities; research centres and professional and trade associations. Each section lists aids available to the researcher using the information and identifies the major recurring information products of a given organization. The revolution of information access that has taken place since the third edition has made it essential to expand the idenification of machine readable information sources available to the researcher and to introduce formats such as CD-ROM.
