About the Author

Gregory J. W. Urwin is a professor of history and the associate director of the Center for the Study of Force and Diplomacy at Temple University. He is the author of Facing Fearful Odds: The Siege of Wake Island and the coeditor of History of the 33d Iowa Infantry Volunteer Regiment, 1863-6 by A. F. Sperry.
