BOOK GIVEN POSITIVE REVIEW IN SUNDAY (NEWARK) STAR-LEDGER
Esteemed Reader; I am pleased to share with you excerpts from an unsolicited review in the Sunday, March 21, 1999, edition of the Sunday Star-Ledger of Newark, New Jersey: "The authors...have stayed true to the vital core of their religious backgrounds....[They] rarely miss an opportunity to be helpful. For Christian readers, they offer a primer on Taoism. The goal isn't to make converts for either team, but to add to a reader's appreciation of [his/her]own religion, as well as the other's." Also, the included commentaries on the scripture quotations from the traditions that my co-authors and I chose are credited with going "a long way toward expanding insights." As a concluding comment, I remind that the prime goal of entering into dialogue is not to defend or defeat, but to understand. The promotion of a greater degree of mutual understanding between Christians and Taoists -- for the enrichment of all -- is the intent of this work. Peace!
