Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. 1st Edition. The author looks at women in a variety of different parts of Colonial American, and at different races and ethnicities. Different chapters look at white women in New England, immigrant women in the middle states, African-American women, Native American women, etc. A very interesting sociological study of the position of a wide range of Colonial American women. This is a withdrawn library book from the Norwalk branch of the Los Angeles Public Library, with call number label on the spine, dust jacket (in plastic cover) glued to inside covers, library card pocket on ffep, and a library stamp on the bottom page edge. Extensive pencil underlining and margin marks (brackets, asterisks, etc.) have been gently and thoroughly erased. Some of the marks, however, were made so strongly that they are still partly visible even after erasing. Otherwise, the book is in very good condition. 234 pages, 5½ x 8½ inches, not illustrated.
