From the Author

Covers every trail that comes in contact with the Parkway.
Walking the Blue Ridge has detailed descriptions of every trail that comes in contact with the Blue Ridge Parkway. This includes all National Park Service, National Forest Service, state park trails, and even the trails of the privately owned Grandfather Mountain. More than 200 trails in all. I walked each of the trails with a measuring wheel to insure accuracy of mileage. The book has garnered favorable reviews and in now in its third printing, having been updated twice. In addition to route descriptions, there is information on history, plants, animals, geology, and other items of interest you may encounter while walking or hiking. Also included are places you are and are not permitted to camp, facilities along the Parkway, a roadside bloom calender so that you may enjoy the wildflowers, and other Parkway data and information.
