Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. Hardcover edition published by The Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1983. Published to accompany the exhibit of the same name. Includes 83 illustrations, 65 of which are in full color. Graham Reynolds is a leading expert on Constable, having also published a two volume raisonne of the author's work. Includes a biographical summary, and critical analysis of each work. The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. The first blank flyleaf has been removed, cut very close to the binding so it's not very noticeable. There is a small smudge mark to the lower right corner of the text block, no further wear to report though. No former ownership marks, no writing, this is not a remainder not a library discard. 9" X 10", 184 pages, printed on heavy weight glossy stock, blue cloth covered boards, sewn binding. Foreword by Philippe de Montebello, then-director of the MMA. Reynolds was a British art historian and museum curator, expert on Constable's work.This book was published in conjunction with an MMA exhibition of the same title. The catalogue section is illustrated with color reproductions of the paintings. Almost square (9-1/4" x 10-3/16"), medium blue cloth with black lettering on spine, minimal shelf wear, faint foxing to rear end papers from laid-in newspaper clipping, erased pencil price on ffep, interior pages on satin-finish stock bright and unmarked. DJ has a one-inch area of wear along bottom of front panel and one mark by pen on rear flap. The laid-in clipping is from the TLS, a review of a 2002 exhibition book on Constable.
