Synopsis
This resource guide is designed to assist individuals or groups in teaching children about a wide variety of Christian symbols. Organized according to church seasons, each chapter begins with an introduction to the church season, including its length, colors, themes, and historical background. Also included are ideas for children's messages, a closing prayer, suggested music and memorization verses, and a follow-up activity for parents and teachers. It includes many help indices: an index of objects, an index of themes, and an index of biblical references to symbols. Woodcut art and selected text files for educators/pastors are provided on the CD-ROM.

About the Author
Harriet Vandermeer has taught all ages in her personal and professional life, in the classroom, in the church and at home with her own children. A graduate of Calvin College, Grand Rapids, USA, she is currently a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church, where she conducts the Cherub Choir, sings and assists in the Chancel Choir and is beginning a term as elder.
