Why I wrote this book.
Many genealogy books focus on the "how" of genealogy. I like to concentrate on the "where." When working with researchers, one of their biggest obstacles seems to be that they don't know where to begin to find their family records. In The Center, I have endeavored to make the large well-known repositories more user-friendly, and also highlight some of the more unusual facilities not always frequented by genealogists. My bottom line is that I hope more people will be ready to try researching in the DC area after reading my book.
