Statistics in Plain English, Second Edition provides a brief, simple overview of statistics to help readers gain a better understanding of how statistics work and how to interpret them correctly.

The first describes the statistic, including how it is used and what information it provides. The final section provides examples that use and interpret the statistic. A glossary of terms and symbols is also included.

About the Authors

Tim Urdan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Santa Clara University. He received his Ph.D. in Education and Psychology from the University of Michigan. Since 2001, he has served on the editorial board for Contemporary Educational Psychology and the Journal of Educational Psychology. He conducts research on adolescent development, motivation, and classroom environments.

Tim Urdan is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychology at Santa Clara University.
