"Rusty's Red Vacation" is a true story!
"Rusty's Red Vacation" is based on a real vacation I went on as a child of 4. My parents bought a red car and trailer. All the dinnerware, swimsuits, beach towels and pajamas were red. We even visited the redwoods in California! We did see a bear, which might have been red, too. The book came about when, as an adult, I found an old photograph of my mom and me dressed in red, standing at our red campsite. My other books "Yolanda's Yellow School" and "Bonnie's Blue House" are also based on some of my own childhood experiences. I hope everyone enjoys them all!
