Ellen Kindt McKenzie lives in the San Francisco Bay Area of California and spends her summers in rual Wisconsin. She is the author of several books for young readers, including Taash and Jesters, an ALA Notable Book, and The King, the Princess, and the Tinker, a 1992 American Bookseller Pick of the Lists. Stargone John is a Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books Blue Ribbon Book and winner of the Bay Area Book Reviewers Award of 1991.
William Low is an award-winning illustrator and graduate of the Parsons School of Design. Illustrator of both Stargone John and The King, the Princess, and the Tinker, he lives on Long Island, New York, and teaches at Manhattan's School of Visual Arts.
