About the Author

Denis Clift has crisscrossed the globe participating in key events of our era. A former Naval Officer and editor of the U.S. Naval Institute Proceedings, he is a veteran of two Antarctic Expeditions. He is President Emeritus of the National Intelligence University, holds the highest Senior Executive Service rank, and has served as a Commissioner, Middle States Commission on Higher Education, and a Presidential Commissioner, U.S.-Russia Joint Commission on POW/MIA. His career includes service in the administrations of 11 successive Presidents, including tours as Senior National Security Council staff member for the Soviet Union and Eastern and Western Europe, National Security Adviser to the Vice President of the United States, and Chief of Staff, Defense Intelligence Agency. He is a recipient of three Honorary PhDs, and some of the highest U.S. and foreign decorations. His books include Our World in Antarctica, With Presidents to the Summit, and Clift Notes - Intelligence and the Nation's Security.
