`It is a guide of vital importance to researchers, trainers and extension workers, especially those collaborating with communities in Third World countries′ - European Journal of Development Research

Using practical examples, the author examines both the concept of participation and ethical considerations in fieldwork, and stresses methodological pluralism and dialogue in development planning.
