The authors of this useful guide provide a monitoring system to help schools and districts acquire the information they need to achieve their strategic planning, accountability and school-restructuring goals. They describe an ideal, achievable `model' school and district for the year 2000, indicators of specific features of that school and ways of measuring comparable features of current schools.
