Any counsellor, regardless of race, background or motives, can engage in unintentional acts of racism. In so doing, they may inadvertently sabotage their own efforts and perpetuate the very problems they seek to help clients overcome.

The author′s emphasis is on the insidiousness of unintentional racism and his goal is to eliminate it. He proposes practical solutions and includes numerous clinical examples. The volume will help counsellors gain new insights into their operational behaviour and modify practices that may interfere with helpful intervention.
