After a tragic accident claims the lives of Caitlin Morrisey’s parents, she must preserve the family ranch and support her brother, Jeff, and her sister, Linnie. Desperate to keep the family together, Caitlin turns an old barn into a bed and breakfast. Tony Black, a neighbor, offers to marry her, but she is determined to marry for love. Connor Devlin, another neighbor whose broken fence and wandering cattle caused the accident that killed her parents, offers to buy her out, but Caitlin furiously rejects the offer.
The Spring Hollow Guest Ranch is a rousing success, in spite of the mysterious fire that threatens the converted barn. Strange lights in the far pasture and a near-miss accident with a semitruck bother Caitlin. Even her growing attraction to Connor Devlin can’t erase her anxiety.
Around the campfire, Jeff recounts the legend of lost Spanish treasure to fascinated guests, and daydreams of finding it. But someone already has plans for the treasure and will stop at nothing to get it.
