Synopsis

A little girl dreams that she's all alone at sea in a tiny boat. It's dark, and the sea is scary. Then she sees the gentle moon, the first sign of God's love. The moon, the stars, and at last the sun lend enough light to lead her back to shore, where she realizes she was never alone at all. God has brought her safely home.

About the Author

Kathi Appelt grew up in Houston, Texas, and graduated fromTexas A&M University in 1979 with a B. A. in English andTheatre Arts. She is a frequent visitor in schools and atwriting workshops and is the regional advisor for theBrazos Valley Society of Children's Book Writers andIllustrators. Kathi currently has over twenty-five booksunder contract and lives in College Station, Texas. Debra Reid Jenkins works as a painter and children's book illustrator.
