From the Back Cover

The suffering of loss and
the joy of true love
shared by four cousins around the quilting frame.

The women settle down in Fort Worth, Texas, to build a new life without their grandfather. Abby begins planning a new school, Liz works at the mercantile in town, and Megan lends a hand in an effort to make others feel at home. When a herd of cattle charge treacherously near their property, Emma develops an idea: supplying food and shelter for the cowboys and their horses could bring in extra income. When Liz becomes sick the whole town is abuzz . . . and relationships grow strong as the women gather to quilt together.

The four cousins forge a new family amid the unfamiliar ways of the western plains hoping to weave different threads for their new home.
