Taking the Lead

Alec London Series #5

By Stephanie Perry Moore

When Tyrod announced he was running against me for class president, I knew it was on. I was done letting that bully get to me. Instead of fighting him, I decided to speak from my heart and let the class pick their leader. Now that the elections are done, it's time for me to figure out what Grandma means when she says it's important to lead God's way.

I think watching my dad might help. A lot of people are very happy with the way he is leading our school. But it's not easy. He and Mom have been fussing a lot lately. I'm not going to worry, though. Grandma says their marriage is in God's hands and He will help them work it out.

Coach Moore has been teaching me that good leaders care about everything they do - even if it means doing what is best instead of doing what makes you popular. This year God has been helping me really care and do what is best. And that is leading to a great finish for the school year.
