Letter to the reader
Dear Reader:
With kindness and respect, I humbly thank each and every one of you for considering this book as your source for guidance in the music business. I spent three years writing it and twenty years living it.
My goal as a writer, manager and kindred spirit to all my musicians and manager friends is to pass on my torch of knowledge and experience.
Inside the book, you will find the answers to how things work in this complicated business along with my detailed explanations of how to make it all work for you. There are sample contracts, riders, accounting forms, merchandising forms, advance booking forms, spread sheets, tour reports and so many other daily formats that I used for my clients. I have prepared them in blank format (so that you can copy them for yourself) and filled out, so you will understand exactly how to use them.
The book also contains information regarding my web site. I expect you to stop by and join the thousands of other students there who use it for continued education.
As this book is all about furthering your career, I feel that unless I do it 100% I shouldn't do it at all.
Thanks to all who have purchased the book and good luck to all of you.
With love, Marc Davison
