Synopsis
In today's world, there are many threats to the environment, including overdevelopment, pollution, and dangerous wildfires, which work to destroy what's left of our open land. Global warming threatens to dramatically change our climate and force many species of animals into extinction, and hunting, fishing, and disease also put wildlife at risk. ""The Environment"" examines all of these threats to our world, as well as some of the steps scientists are taking to protect what's left of the environment.

About the Author

Today, she is a freelance writer and editor with 10 years of experience working on nonfiction books for young adults, covering topics ranging from social studies and biography to health and science.
