He has served as a technology consultant to many of the most important high-technology companies, including Internet startups, Web infrastructure players, and Fortune 1000 technology companies. Harold has been a Technical Director at Vignette Corporation and a Principal in the e-commerce practice at Informix Software. In addition, he is the author of many best-selling books on programming and the Web including Red Hat Linux 6: Visual QuickPro Guide (Peachpit Press), Visual Basic 6 Visual QuickStart Guide (Peachpit Press), Visual Basic Secrets (IDG Books), and Web Developer's Secrets (IDG Books). Recently, he has written Understanding 802.11b and Bluetooth, Enterprise Web Architecture, and other executive briefings for MightyWords.
Richard Mansfield (High Point, NC) is an author and programmer whose recent titles include Visual Basic .NET ASP.NET Programming (Hungry Minds) and Visual Basic .NET Database Programming For Dummies (Hungry Minds). While he was the editor of COMPUTE! Magazinne during the '80s, he wrote hundreds of magazine articles and two monthly columns.
