Beware of Invention Marketing Services
Under the guise of providing invention marketing services, the dreams of an estiamted 25,000 inventors are dashed annually by non-performing, para-creative slugs who prey on inexperienced and needy inventors. The marketers praise every concept submitted, no matter its merit, charge the inventor fees ranging from hundreds to thousands of dollars, and do little or nothing to commercialize the invention. Seventeen (17) states have laws on their books that protect inventors, and The Inventor Protection Act of 1995, sponsored by US Sen. Joseph Lieberman (D-CT), is still in committee (summer 1996). In addition to learning how to license your invention, my book tells you how to avoid rip-off artists (don't ever pay an agent a dime to represent your invention) and save money with lawyers, patent searchers (best one I know is George Harvill (301) 469-0902), etc. Remember, information is power. Celebrate failure. And never give up!
