In this western in Ralph Compton's USA Today bestselling series, home is a battlefield...
Buck Fletcher, infamous shootist, was once a boy raised in a cabin near Two-Bit Creek in Montana. Returning home to pay his respects at the graves of his parents, Buck finds an unconscious woman in the woods--bleeding from a head wound. Taking refuge in his family's cabin--now home to a crotchety geezer with a rifle--Buck learns that the woman may be a victim in the range war that's brewing between the PP Connected and Lazy R ranches.
Upon awaking, the woman can only remember that her name is Cathy. She has no idea who would attempt to kill her, or why. Now that Buck has befriended her, he finds himself drawn into the escalating conflict--threatened by one side, courted by the other. Neither side realizes that Buck's guns aren't for sale, but the lead is free...
