Long ago the red church, a place of untold evil, housed Reverand Wendell McFall, who believed in the existence of God's Second Son--the arch enemy of Jesus--and now, the red church opens its door once again to Archer McFall, a man determined to see the Second Son rise to power. Original.

"A wonderful storyteller, he is at the top of his game in The Red Church." -- Author Sharyn McCrumb
"Like Stephen King, he has an eye and ear for the rhythms of rural America, and like King he knows how to summon serious scares." -- Author Bentley Little
"Readers will sense echoes of Stephen King's classic 'Castle Rock' tales, but there's a tasty strain of Lovecraft here, too." -- Author Stewart O'Nan
"Scott Nicholson writes with a mixture of Clive Barker, H.P. Lovecraft and Manly Wade Wellman." -- Author Kevin J. Anderson
To me, this a novel about faith, as the main characters try to make sense of the odd events around the rural Appalachian community of Whispering Pines. There's also a love story, a mystery, and the eternal struggle between good and evil. The story was inspired by locla legends surrounding an actual church near my home. I hope readers will get a sense of the mountain region in which I live and write, as well as experience a few thrills.
