Strays Like Us is a remarkable and poignant story for older readers who truly want to be challenged when they pick up a book. It tells the story of Molly, a girl who has followed her mother across the country, facing city after city but never settling anywhere. When her mother becomes ill, she is left with her Great Aunt Fay in yet another strange city, and because she feels that it will soon be time for her to move on again, she refuses to get too settled in her new life. But she soon realises that the truth of her situation will force her to break down the very defences that have thus far allowed her to function, and as her life changes slowly but surely she has no choice but to confront both her past and her future head on.
