About the Editor Tariq Samad is Chief Fellow at Honeywell Technology Center–the research and development center for the corporation′s businesses which include industrial, homes and buildings, and aerospace controls. He has led projects investigating applications of advanced control and automation systems in all of these areas. Dr. Samad is also an adjunct professor of electrical engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He holds 11 patents and is a Honeywell STAR inventor. Dr. Samad has published widely in the field of control systems and is editor in chief of the IEEE Control Systems Magazine. Currently, he serves on the Board of Governors of the IEEE Control Systems Society.
