"This exceptionally comprehensive tutorial presentation of complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) integrated circuits will guide you through the process of implementing a chip from the physical definition through the design and simulation of the finished chip. CMOS: CIRCUIT DESIGN, LAYOUT, AND SIMULATION provides an important contemporary view of a wide range of circuit blocks, the BSIM model, data converter architectures, and much more. Outstanding features of this text include:
∗ Phase– and delay–locked loops, mixed–signal circuits, and data converters
∗ More than 1,000 figures, 200 examples, and over 500 end–of–chapter problems
∗ In–depth coverage of both analog and digital circuit–level design techniques
∗ Real–world process parameters and design rules
∗ Information on MOSIS fabrication procedures, and other key topics of interest
∗ Information and directions on submitting chips of MOSIS
∗ Tutorial presentation of material suitable for self study or as a university textbook

Prof. W.C. Black, Department of Electrical Engineering, Iowa State University ------------------------------------------------------------
This book presents a comprehensive treatment of digital and analog CMOS circuits. The design work and exercises in the book are a good reflection of "real world" design problems.. Everything that a person needs to design a CMOS circuit is provided in this book. You name it: device models for SPICE simulations, process information, layout rules, and even layout software. In short, you get it "All-In-One".
Throughout the book, quick and simplified methods of analyzing circuits are used. For example, the use of the simplified digital model helps the reader quickly analyze timing constraints of various digital gates. In addition to that, analog circuits are analyzed with familiar numbers which helps the reader understand circuits quickly rather than emphasizing exact numbers. Quick understanding of these circuits helps develop an intuitive understanding of CMOS circuits.
The many different examples of CMOS circuits, especially in the analog section, make this book an excellent reference book.
Boon-Aik Ang, Design Engineer Advanced Micro Devices ------------------------------------------------------------
"The book's emphasis on fundamentals along with its presentation of advanced concepts makes it the reference I always turn to first."
Brian Johnson, Design Engineer, Micron Technology, Inc.
Written to inform and teach
"CMOS Circuit Design, Layout, and Simulation" was written to provide the reader with a solid foundation for the design and implementation of custom CMOS digital, analog and mixed signal integrated circuits. In addition to being very easy to read (the information is presented from a tutorial point of view), the book provides information and directions on downloading and using IC layout and design software for the PC.
