Also found within is a series of papers by various Masonic writers, with an introduction, explanatory and historical matter, notes, etc. by J. Matthewman. The selection of the material, with the exception of the introduction and concluding portions, rested with Brother Tew, the treatment is entirely that of Matthewman. If in addition to the information which the book contains, it serves to keep alive the name of Tew and to show future generations of Freemasons, how much the Craft generally, but this Providence particularly, owes to his genius and fostering care, Matthewman's object will be gained and his inspiration fulfilled.
