Synopsis

Neva Jones is on a quest. But she's not quite sure what she's questing for. A crow told her to take off all the iron she wore, a stag told her to get a lock of pale hair and a lock of dark, and an owl told her to jump into a lake. Neva is a businesswoman in Alabama, the New South, not a character in some fair tale novel - but she'll step into this quest business if it means no longer feeling like she's going insane; she'll dive right into the lake and a crazy dream-world where nothing makes sense, giants speak in riddles, surfers throw tea parties, and there's ocean as far as the eye can see. There's one thing she knows: the hottie she met on a business trip in Wales is there, and she needs to be saved. Neva's saved herself plenty throughout her thirty-one years; she can save the dark-haired, blue-eyed Welshman. Especially since she's pretty sure that it's supposed to work like a fairy tale: after she saves him, they'll be together forever. But is it all really a dream? If it is, Neva doesn't want to wake up...

About the Author

Kassandra Sims is a criminal mastermind and evil genius whose plans for world domination and sassy yet comfortable heels have been as of yet woefully unsuccessful. Born and raised South of the Mason-Dixon line, she currently bides her time in her lair in Nashville, Tennessee, waiting for the opportunity to thwart the forces of shoe designers everywhere. Her time is generally occupied with knitting, researching ancient cults, practicing her evil laugh, and employing her uncooperative cats to stage mock battles. She has worked on several Canadian television shows, and written movie scripts that have seen various levels of production. Falling Upwards is her second novel.
