Synopsis
A New York newspaperman is determined to fulfil a deathbed request: restore honour to Major Marcus Reno, disgraced survivor of Little Big Horn. Major Marcus Reno, one of Custer's senior officers, escaped the carnage of Little Big Horn and saved most of the troopers under his command from the Sioux and Cheyenne onslaught. Even so, he was held responsible for the deaths of Custer and over two hundred men. Thirteen years later, Reno, dying of cancer, grants a final interview to a Washington newspaperman, and makes a final request: for the reporter to restore honour to his name. The reporter promises to do what he can to restore the major's reputation. Wheeler, master of the biographical novel, brings Marcus Reno to life in this unforgettable novel.

About the Author
Richard S. Wheeler is author of fifty novels of the American West. He is recipient of four Spur Awards and the Owen Wister Award for Lifetime Achievement in Western literature from Western Writers of America, Inc. He lives in Livingston, Montana.
