Bob Sehlinger is the creator and Executive Publisher of the Unofficial Guide travel series. Joe Surkiewicz has co–authored five titles in the Unofficial Guide series and written two guides to the best places to ride a mountain bike in the mid–Atlantic states. Between book assignments, Joe is a legal affairs writer at The Daily Record in Baltimore, where he translates appellate court opinions into plain English and generally does his best to irritate the local legal establishment. He lives in Baltimore with his best friend and counselor, Ann Lembo. When not traveling or bicycling, they enjoy evenings curled up on the sofa with their black–and–white feline companion, Molly, to watch black–and–white movies starring 1930s film divas Barbara Stanwyck, Norma Shearer, and Jean Harlow.
