Everything you need to know to start making beautiful mosaics
Learn all of the core techniques
Sections throughout the book teach all the basic skills, such as transferring motifs, cutting and grouting tiles, using color, and working with a range of materials, from broken pottery and tesserae to beautiful millefiori tiles.
16 easy-to-follow projects
Each project is demonstrated with both large-format step-by-step photographs, and close-up photographs that give added clarity to tricky stages. At-a-glance panels show the tools and materials youÂ’ll need.
Easily scaleable drawings
Scale plans can be reproduced to the required size on graph paper or scaled up or down on a photocopier. They include simple geometric designs, heart and flower motifs, and more elaborate birds, animals, and portraits.
Graded—for ease of use
These techniques are graded from the most basic to the more advanced, though all skills are clearly taught and are easily achievable for beginners.
Actual-size tile gauge
Actual-size photographs demonstrate the range of tiles needed to complete your projects.
