About the Author

Alexander D. Mitchell IV is a historian, writer, and photographer specializing primarily in railroads and transportation history. His articles and photos have appeared in numerous magazines and newspapers over the years, including Trains, and Railfan & Railroad. He is also the author of Washington, D.C. Then and Now. Born and raised in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania, he now resides in Baltimore, Maryland.
