About the Author

Tracy Acosta, D.V.M., is a respected small animal veterinarian who writes a regular newspaper column on pet care. She is a member of both the American Animal Hospital Association and the American Veterinary Medical Association. A graduate of the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Acosta currently works in private practice in Gulfport, Mississippi, where she lives with her black Labrador, Bacchus, her Cairn Terriers, Murphy and Mongo, and her cat, Oreo.
