Climbing Your Family Tree reflects my passion for this exciting hobby -- the fun and rewards of tracing your family heritage. I originally wrote the book ten years ago. This new edition includes not only tons of information about the internet, but also a fresh look at how people from today's complex families -- blended families, step-families, adoptive and single-parent families, etc. -- can do family research with pride and with charts and record-keeping formats that help them show, without apology, who they are. The book is filled with examples of kids and adults who discovered fascinating things about themselves and their families -- and many many suggestions for how readers can do that, too.
Ira Wolfman is an American journalist and educator who has been tracing his family history since 1986. He has gone back to his fourth great-grandparents, who were born in the 1740s in Eastern Europe. Wolfman has written for many American magazines, was editor in chief of Sesame Street publications for many years, and is the author of three other books.
